Chisasibi : Nouchimi Tourism
For experienced hunters with their sights set on caribou, the Nouchimi Camp provides a marvellous opportunity. Thousands of Labrador Caribou pass through this area every winter on their migratory journey. Split into two main herds, close to one million caribou move through the area. These abundant herds travel up to 6,000 kilometres every year, which is more than any other land animal on earth. Our experienced camp staff can point out prime hunting spots. There are also opportunities to hunt hare and grouse.
For those who are more inclined to fish, we invite you to come in pursuit of giant northern pike, delicious walleye, and speckled and lake trout. The fishing continues through the winter months with superb ice-fishing. Snowmobiles and ATVs are available for rental.
Whatever your adventure activity - hunting, fishing, canoe-camping, wilderness hiking - we can provide the equipment. And whatever the season - we are open year-round.
The Nouchimi Camp is accessible by road, and we offer a comfortable and secure starting point, with hot showers, and laundry facilities. Outlets for car heaters are also available. The camp also includes a buffet-style restaurant.
You can choose between the American plan, with lodging and meals, or try the European plan where you supply your own meals.
